Bad Evil Mother from HELL!
Me!
Me!
ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will admit this. I did not listen to Sasha. I asked her how to get a kid from sucking their thumb/fingers (in my case). She mentioned and gave me a URL to a mommy blog that had a bitter solution to it.
I. Was. Too. Damn. Lazy.
I mean, I’m just too damn lazy to go around looking for this bitter solution in pharmacy after pharmacy after pharmacy. Plus, you put me in a Pharmacy, I’d most likely end up looking for stuff to put in my first-aid kit, like that wonderful new silicone bandage that they have, that would reduce scarring or that wonderful skincare product that I just must must have…or…
Ok..that got me into a pharmaceutical phantasy.
So, what I did I do? I went on a rampage. First, it started with me yelling, "DO NOT SUCK YOUR FINGERS HERE! DO NOT SUCK YOUR FINGERS HERE!". By that I mean, we both have an understanding that he can only do it when he’s in his own room, ready to sleep. I get it that it’s his ‘thing’.
I just don’t want him to get too used to it, outside the sanctuary of his room. Plus, I have quite enough of raised eyebrows from the in-laws and other relos on my poor kid.
So, what did I do next?
I warned him that the next time I see him sucking his fingers outside his room…..I would "CHOP" it off!
I spelt it out "C-H-O-P" and said it with alot of hand chopping action.
Then today, I saw him sucking his fingers while watching the telly. Then, I yelled at him, "I AM GOING TO CHOP YOUR FINGERS NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
I ran back into the kitchen and got my kitchen scissors.
See…
Then, I chased after him. Poor kid was terrified to his bone. He ran away, crying and pleading with me, not to chop it off. I yelled, "I WILL CHOP IT OFF, BECAUSE YOU STILL WANT TO SUCK YOUR FINGERS!!!"
He looked real terrified of the scissors. He then looked at me, wondering if this mama was pulling his leg. Of course, I tried very hard to look very stern. And I guess I was THAT convincing..so, he really cried buckets, clutching on for dear life to his precious ‘twos’.
I chased after him, running around the coffee table…..in any case, I kept at that length..I was still careful of ‘accidental chopping’.
So, he then pleaded and promised me that he would only do it in his room. He made sure I believed him. I don’t know..y’know la ..kids…
Then, I said, "OK"….and walked off. He was soo relieved.
He came into the kitchen after that and asked me not to be angry with him anymore. Poor kid..he was that terrified la.
See..I’m the Bad Evil Mother from HELL! I lied to him, I didn’t use the chopper…I just used the scissors.
And yes… I am one of those horrigible chinese mothers (who like to follow old canto movie style drama….ones with chopper knives…WAKAKAKAKAAKAKAKAKAAKK!).
Probably alot of you would tsk tsk tsk my behaviour. Pls do so in my comment box….I do welcome it. I am after all, the bad evil mother from HELL, who believes in traumatising her children..and other children (if given a chance) !….and at the very least, alot of you will learn "what not to do with your child".
Updated : He’s been keeping his word so far. I have been doing lil sneak peeks during times I know he’d be normally sucking..and he’s been keeping his word. I wonder now….if this sorta traumatisation treatment really works??!! MUA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!

Cool, evil method! I should try that out on Booboo one day. That’ll stop him from sucking his thumb.
Nyek nyek nyek…I hope it’ll work… not that I condone traumatisation techniques la… HA HA HA!

Aiyoh! If cant find that bitter stuff, just rub sambal belachan or “hong yew” la! No need to traumatise the poor kid? Wait he get nightmare how? YOU are the one that has to get up to comfort him. heeheee - actually, I also behave like you sometimes. But it sure gets them to act the way we want - and pronto too! But dont do too often, ok?
My only problem is…what if he ACTUALLY likes the taste? Die lorrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Eh, u can also use that same method on ur hubby! If u go play-play outside, I WILL CHOP IT OFF!!
