With response to S-A-H-M’s comment, I just updated my other blog. I realised that I haven’t been updating both blogs properly.
No…haven’t popped. Don’t want to yet!
Anyway, I just got an invitation. Ok, not me. No.1 got invited to his first ‘dress-up’ birthday party. He has to come in his favourite movie character costume. SO, yesterday, I asked him, "If you’re going to Joshua’s birthday party, which superhero would you like to be? Superman, Spiderman, Batman or Ninja Turtle". Ok..these are the most popular costumes sold in the stores. So, like not much choices la!
His reply?
"WONDER WOMAN".
?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Father and Mother dropped jaws.
I said, "Errr..you can’t exactly be wonder woman, you don’t have boobies".
He said, "I WANT! I WANT!".
OH! OH!!!! What are we going to do? Why wonder woman? WHY WHY WHY?????!!!!!!!!!!

Father decides he’ll make a costume for him. A Thunderbird costume. Like the other 5 year old kids would know who/what Thunderbirds are. *rolls eyes*
Anyway… what would be a budget for the present? I have 20 probable other birthday invites to consider this year. If it’s 40.00, that means, I’d have to spend at least 800.00 alone on gifts!

For boobs use tissue paper, but he’ll be the laughing stock. Dont. Next time dont ask. Just give him whatever costume you have in the wardrobe. Those spider man PJs should do. dont forget, the underwear is on the outside! haha! even for wonder woman.

the budget would be aroudn AUD 20-AUD 30 for the birthday gift..depending on how chummy that child is to JR.

I was happily sipping my hot cup of Milo until I read the part, “Wonder woman”…almost burst out laughing! LOL!
Not sure about the std of living in Aussie..but for me, a kid’s pressie is about $20. It also depends on whether we’re close to the family or not. I will spend a little more on my closer friends’ kids. Once JY & JR have their own bday parties, you will love the idea of re-gifting. Hehe..after all, they can’t play all the toys, can they?

AUD 40 for a gift??? Waaaa…. I am very kiam siap then. I normally give USD 10 if it’s in a house, and maybe USD 15 if it’s a bowling party or mini-golf or play-area….
