Birth Story… obviously back-dated!
I was meant to write this down. I keep forgetting. Might as well while the lil fler is still snoozing away.
March 5th - 10pm
Bad stomach ache. Slept anyway….been having similiar type pains earlier…and did beraks…so, thought nothing of it.
March 6th -5am
Hmm..perhaps it’s contractions..not just Braxton Hicks. Ah..but nevermind…just sleep first
7am
Ok..had a major beraks session. Dang it..still pain.
9am
Sent JR to school. Righteo…better call up hospital to check. Told them baby is probably transverse again…and they said to come in straight away.
Dang it! I looked at JY and kissed and hugged him like as if I wasn’t going to see him again. Sigh… I couldn’t even tell him I was going. He happily hugged me back and watched telly.
10am
In the hospital, contractions getting more frequent…but still quite relaxed about it.
11am
They’ve checked the position of baby and YES….emergency c-section. Dang dang dang! So, they tell me I have to go in immediately, as they are afraid my waters do break. If so, I’d have to be wheeled into the operating theater "DOGGY STYLE", so that someone will hold on to the cord.
Yes..my Va-J-J will be showed to the rest of the world (well, those at the hospital anyway), if my waters did break!
1pm
Had spinal anaesthetic. Damn 9 painful. Am feeling really scared at this point, coz it’s major surgery…and I really don’t want to die.
1.30pm
They start tugging and pulling and tugging and pulling. Mind you, this is a teaching hospital and they had an intern helping operating on me, k!!!!!!!! It sounded like they were having heaps of problems trying to get the fler out. I was really scared shit then. I was hoping and praying he’ll be ok.
2pm
The lil fler is out, I asked outloud, "Is it a boy or girl?". Nobody answers me. They just show me… HIS LEFT FOOT.
Ahhhhh…… I asked Mr.T "BOY OR GIRL???". He looks on with wonder. They call him over to have a look at the lil fler.
I’m still wondering…"BOY OR GIRL?????". Finally, Mr.T gets back to me….BOY!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH My pengsan package has arrived!!! I cried buckets and buckets and buckets…relieved at the sound of his cry…….. I just couldn’t stop crying. Like I was ‘mad’!
Finally…..it’s all over. Now, it’s the hard part. Motherhood! And I’m still crying….

COngrats….any confinement help?
Finally, another little fella to help protect mummy!

congrats on the arrival of your newborn
. I just wanted to share with you that I too was crying buckets AFTER my lil one came out…dunno why laa, just could not stop. If you’d like to know, mine was normal delivery, but was really scared and anxious this time round. Previous 2 were induced, so no need to wait for labour signs. I had brown discharge in the morning of 8th March. Called gynae, he just brushed it off and said come only next week for my appt. (o.O) Then as the day went by, while getting myself and the kids ready to go out to vote, there was slight pain which i thought was braxton hicks. Later it got stonger. started packing the kids’ stuff to go to grandma’s. I reached the labour ward just in time to change, get on the bed and the water bag broke (cried here too)as the nurses were timing my contractions. Phew, lucky didn’t happen in the car. Labour was 3 hrs plus. I almost gave up and thought of going c-sec coz i think the doc asked me to push even when i didn’t feel the really strong contractions (like want to berak type). Waste my energy and gave me a swollen vaj! All in all, baby and mum are ok laa. Btw, sorry to leave such a long comment here.
You take care.
